I love to write, but sometimes it becomes a time challenge for me. Yes, I do love to write rather lengthly (somewhat scholarly) reflections in the form of blog posts, but that form of blogging takes a bit of time, which in the end prevents me from blogging as much as I really want to. I will of course continue to write some of these blogs (mostly for my DML Central blog). But I want to write & share more often, and not belabor the art of blogging too much.
…So I have decided to institute a new blogging subgenre for me to perfect over the next year: the snap blog. The snap blog is a quick spark of inspiration shared, not to take more than 15 minutes to write and publish. The snap blog will be my blog subgenre of choice for the new Elements of Networked Narrative open journey. Stay tuned on twitter: @netnarr #netnarr.
Buckle up friends, we are going to have some fun! And watch for more snap blogs from moi.
Hey, Mia, I like this idea. And think I’ll have to try it soon. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to what you’ll do.
Love the idea of “snap blogs.” I also get bogged down in “scholarly” blog posts, and therefore blog much less than I would like.
Snap blogs–I love it! I get bogged down in my imagined sense of audience expectations, which is a laugh since nobody reads anything I post anyway. Yet, still, like you, I love the act of writing and low entry level publishing.
I need to stop overthinking this whole thing…
